Eventide Sanctuary: Private Safari-Style Animal Tours Experience Tasmania’s nature and wildlife in a way few ever do. Eventide Sanctuary offers intimate, private safari-style tours through a living rescue sanctuary where animals and nature coexist in harmony. Travel by open buggy across the sanctuary as rescued farm animals roam freely in their natural environment. Along the way, guests may spot native wildlife living peacefully alongside the sanctuary residents, including wallabies, wombats, Tasmanian devils, and wedge-tailed eagles soaring overhead. Every tour is unique, shaped by the animals, the landscape, and the season. The experience lasts 60 to 90 minutes, allowing time to truly connect with the animals at their own pace. Guests enjoy hand-feeding our gentle Highland cows and many of the other rescued animals, including alpacas, donkeys, ponies and many more who now call Eventide home, while learning their stories and the sanctuary’s mission. Designed to be a relaxing experience, this experience requires only a low level of fitness and is suitable for all ages. What to Know Before You Go Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes Bring a warm jacket in cooler weather as the tour takes place outdoors on an open buggy. On sunny days, we recommend water, sunscreen, and a hat Important Note As Eventide is a working rescue sanctuary, tours may occasionally be delayed if an animal medical emergency arises. Tours are never cancelled and operate rain or shine. By attending a tour, guests acknowledge that they are entering an active sanctuary environment and agree to follow all guidance provided by Eventide staff to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Directions are given with care and are designed to protect both guests and animals. Visitors accept personal responsibility for their own safety and the supervision of children while on the property, and agree to treat all animals with respect and kindness at all times. By participating, guests release Eventide Sanctuary from liability associated with normal farm and sanctuary activities.
